My approach
Counselling should feel safe, human, and supportive — not clinical or intimidating.
My approach is centred on listening deeply, understanding your experience, and helping you find practical ways to move forward in your life.
Burnout isn’t just stress it can feel like your body and mind are running empty. I work in a way that prioritises pacing, regulation, boundaries, and practical strategies so you can recover without pressure or judgement. Counselling can help you understand your experience and build a way forward that feels manageable and grounded.
A Space Without Judgement or Labels
I don’t believe people are broken or need to be “fixed”.
I also don’t believe in reducing someone to a diagnosis or label.
Instead, I focus on understanding what has happened to you, how it’s affecting you now, and what you need to feel more supported and in control moving forward.
You are the expert on your life. My role is to walk alongside you.
What is trauma counselling? (go to what is trauma counselling page)
Trauma can affect the body, emotions, and sense of safety long after an experience has passed.
My work is trauma-informed, which means:
You are never pushed to talk about anything before you’re ready
Safety, choice, and control are prioritised
We move slowly and respectfully, at your pace
Your reactions are understood as responses to experience — not personal failures
Trauma counselling is not about reliving the past. It’s about helping your nervous system feel safer in the present and supporting you to move forward with greater ease and stability.
Practical Support for Real Life
Counselling isn’t just about talking it’s about creating meaningful change. Together, we work to:
Understand patterns that keep you stuck
Develop tools you can use outside sessions
Build emotional resilience and self-awareness
Support you through change, stress, or uncertainty
Everything we explore is grounded in what’s helpful for your everyday life.
Working at Your Pace
There is no “right” way to do counselling.
Some sessions may focus on talking and reflection.
Others may be more practical or skills-based.
We move at a pace that feels safe for you — without pressure, expectations, or judgement.
Evidence-Based, Integrated & Flexible
I draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, which allows me to tailor sessions to your needs rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all model.
You don’t need to understand therapy terms or techniques — what matters is that the approach feels supportive, respectful, and helpful.
