I work with high-functioning individuals who look capable and successful on the outside but feel emotionally exhausted underneath.
I offer burnout counselling and trauma-informed therapy that helps you not only recover from exhaustion but understand why you’ve felt driven to push yourself for so long. Together we prioritise pacing, nervous system regulation, healthy boundaries and practical strategies that support sustainable change — without pressure or judgement.
What Is Burnout?
Burnout is more than feeling tired. It’s a state of chronic physical, emotional and mental exhaustion that doesn’t improve with rest alone.
“Is This You?”
You’re successful but permanently tired.
You struggle to stop, even when you know you should.
Rest feels unfamiliar or uncomfortable.
You feel responsible for everyone and everything.
Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
Feeling disconnected or numb
Increased irritability or emotional overwhelm
Pushing through exhaustion out of obligation or identity beliefs
This is what high-functioning burnout can look like.
“Burnout rooted in why you push yourself: attachment histories, early expectations from family and society, and long-held beliefs about self-worth.”
Counselling can help you understand what’s driving you, build practical strategies to manage energy and boundaries, and rediscover balance and meaning in your life.

Trauma-Informed Counselling (go to page what is trauma counselling?)
Trauma can affect how we think, feel, and relate to others often long after an experience has passed.
Trauma doesn’t always come from a single event. It can also develop from ongoing stress, emotional neglect, difficult relationships, or experiences that felt overwhelming or unsafe, especially when you had to cope alone.
You might notice trauma showing up as:
Persistent anxiety or feeling constantly on edge
Emotional overwhelm or numbness
Difficulty trusting others or feeling safe
Strong emotional reactions that feel hard to explain
A sense of being “stuck”, disconnected, or hyper-alert
How I Work With Trauma
All of my counselling work is guided by trauma-informed principles.
This means that regardless of what you come to counselling for:
Emotional safety is prioritised
Your boundaries are respected
You are met without judgement or labels
We work at a pace that feels right for you
Counselling is a collaborative process you don’t have to figure things out alone.
My trauma-informed approach means:
You are never pushed to talk about anything before you’re ready
Safety and stability come first
You remain in control of the pace and depth of our work
Your responses are understood as reactions to experience, not personal failings
Trauma counselling is not about reliving the past. It’s about helping your nervous system feel safer in the present and supporting you to move forward with greater confidence and ease.
